In this course we help you to be able to do a flipturn. This course is done step-by-step, starting from scratch to a complete flipturn. Being able to do a flipturn will save you around 2 seconds on each turn, which makes you much faster over longer distances.
What to expect?
This course is 4 weeks with a total of 8 workouts, 2 each week. We will focus on practicing the flipturn using specific drills to improve this. We will work on the flip itself, your foot placement on the wall, the push-off and the entire flipturn.
How does it work?
Each week you follow 2 instruction videos with technique exercises that will help you master the flipturn. You start with getting used to flipping upside down in the water, and to make this summersault movement small and fast. In the second week, you will work on placing your feet on the wall and timing your turn correctly. The third week is all about your streamline push-off, and in the final fourth week we put it all together into a pro-style flipturn.
After watching an instruction video, you can practice this exercise in a pool near you. When you have completed the exercise, you can finish your swim with a body conditioning workout that is included in every step. This way you improve your technique, endurance and strength all in one workout.
Training Equipment: We advise you to use the following training equipment: a kick board and pull buoy (both floating devices), a snorkel and fins.
