Flow-Power Pumps

Overview

The FP pump is a unique, high volume, low pressure axial flow pump with an enormous pumping capacity as high as 3100 GPM with only a 7 1/2 HP energy input. Low pressures allow the pump body to be made out of a non-corroding thermoplastic which makes it cost effective to produce versus bronze and other expensive pump housings. A heavy duty urethane impeller coupled to a stainless steel or titanium shaft handles many types of solid wastes without any tendency to clog and without corroding even under highly corrosive conditions. This makes it ideal in either fresh or salt water conditions. As an efficient mover of water and heavy liquids, the FP pump outperforms all other pump types in energy units consumed per gallons of water/liquids pumped. A totally enclosed fan cooled electric motor with a direct drive is available with or without an electronic speed control.

Aquaculture Pumping System

As an aquaculture pumping system, the FP pump offers superior efficiency and performance in most aquaculture pumping situations. FP pumps produce high rates of oxygenation at near saturation levels in aid of fish metabolism and oxidation of ammonia products. It can also produce high volume directed flows as a direct result of the broad discharge of 3100 GPM from a 10 inch diameter inlet which can prevent temperature and dissolved oxygen stratification and also mix bottom waters with surface layers, so nutrients are not "locked up" on the ponds bottom. The carrying capacity of most existing ponds can be increased, or allow increased fish usage of available space.

Biological Filter Medium Pumping System

As a pump for biological filter mediums, the FP pump is perfect for preventing "ponding" of organic matter on the surfaces of biological filter mediums, or the pump may be used as a recirculation pump for ice prevention. Creation of flow patterns such as circular flows, expanding flows or submerging flows assist the aquaculturist in producing the most from their ponds, such as preventing still areas in square or rectangular ponds, to preventing thermoclines or overheating of water in shallow ponds and also for rapid drainage or self cleaning tanks.
