Water Works! |
|||||||
| As water exercise is virtually gravity free nearly everybody can work out as strenuously as they wish without risk of injury.
Dr. David Bachman, Los Angeles Times, says "SWIMMING COMES CLOSE TO BEING THE PERFECT EXERCISE. It uses all the muscle groups, repetitively and rhythmically, building strength and endurance, without wear and tear. Swimming exercises your heart, improves your circulation and tones muscles." Running and aerobic workouts are as beneficial in water as on land and can be intensified with weights as well. Tested at UCLAs world class training center, Dr. Glenn Egstrom, professor of kinesiology, states that SWIM GYM "should permit the swimmer to develop a varied workout, which can maximize energy output or permit endurance capabilities to be overloaded. All strokes can be executed properly while maintaining a constant position in the flow path, thus avoiding the necessity for repetitive turning "
