| For swimming pools the top of the Discharge/Return grate is installed four (4) to six (6) inches below the water line. Pump installation must be placed with the impeller 18 inches below the water line. While filling the pool open the valve on top of the pump and close it when water spurts out. The pump may be mounted horizontally or vertically. The pump is NOT SELF PRIMING! For vertical installation the pump must be placed with the impeller 18" below the waterline. Suction grates must be installed 30 inches below the discharge grate (in the over/under configuration- all plumbing on deep side of pool with depth of at least five feet) .Or on the side or opposite end of the vessel, but not in the pool floor. The suction run can have 4 (four) 90 degree elbows without affecting the flow. The return line should be a straight run. If you have the space use two 45 degree els instead of the 90. For gunite pools plumb the pump prior to pouring. Makle sure electric motor is wired correctly to turn the shaft/impeller in counter clockwise movement. Inspect PVC pipe for truest round for easier connection.For easier connection with the PVC pipe, we recommend beveled ends at 7 degrees x 3/8 inch long with a sander. Do not cut bevel through to the inside edge. Do not bevel the fittings. Do not strike or hit the shaft during the installation. Use slow-set Glue #718 Extra Heavy Body Slow set. Manufactured specifically for pipe 10 to 22 inches. This glue allows extra time for setting fittings Never operate the pump without water being pumped through the unit. It has a water lubricated bearing in the shaft assembly. Discharge grates must be set absolutely level for proper water flow. The pump may be placed up to 25 feet from the pool. The pump may also be mounted horizontally. |

Pump Location

| Vertical mount. This requires a 4' x 4' hole 4' deep, self draining. The motor will be above ground and must have air. |
| Horozontal mount. This requires a 4' x 6' hole 3' deep with the pump level with the discharge grate. . There must be access to the bolts at the topof the pump. Support May be dirt or construction. |
